Becoming less Fat [Oct. 17th, 2007|04:30 pm]
So I have finally figured out a use for this live journal stuff. I am going to use it to become less fat. With any luck I can use it as a motivator for my wait loss and to track my progress.

This yearning to get in better shape was caused by my puppy. About once a week I weigh my puppy to se how big she is. To do this I weigh my self holding her and I subtract my wieght. This means I need to weight myself. Last night I weighed 207.5 lb. Holy fuck!

I am currently 33, and the fact is that my body will deteriorate if not focusedon. And the idea that I was in the best shape of my life when I was 17-25 is disturbing to say the least. During those times my body was never in "model" shape. I was thin, but not muscular.

So that is my goal, I want to lose weight and gain 3 things: a nice stomach(aka 6 pack), actual chest muscles ( I have had a bird chest my whole life), and a firmer butt (I have as my wife says, "a chick but").

To achieve my goal I am going to:
1)do an ever increasing workout program which currently consists of:

10 minutes of cardio,
followed by Crunches & Leg Raises

Incline Dumbbell Chest Press (1x12)
Dumbbell Pullovers (1x12)

Wide Grip Pulldown (1x12)
Row Machine (1x12)

Seated Dumbbell Presses (1x12)

Triceps Press Machine (1x12)

Standing Dumbbell Curls (1x12)

Leg Press (1x15)
Leg Extension (1x15)
Leg Curl (1x15)

Complete one or two sets of each exercise the first two weeks and three sets of each the remaining weeks of the four-week cycle. Be easy; during the first set, warm-up and practice the groove of the movement (the track in which the weight safely, effectively and naturally travels). Increase the resistance with each successive set. Focus, form and deliberate motion. Hard work but don't strain... Yet.

2) Adjust my eating.

No more soda.
Less Cheese. (it is the devil, but I love the devil)
No Fast food. /cry

Since I am starting on a wednesday I am going to make my first 2 weeks actually be 2 1/2 weeks. I will move to 3 sets on Nov 5, and I will finish this program and start a new one on Nov 19.

In addition I will post pictures of my (hopeful) transformation along with updates of my weight.

Current Update:
Weight: 207.5

Does your face hurt? Well it is killing me! LOL [Aug. 2nd, 2006|12:51 pm]
So I have shingles on my face and it hurts. The pain comes about once every 10 minutes and it hurts to the bone and spreads down the left side of my face. I love my doctor though. She gave me pain killers which have a good high with them. I feel very relaxed in between the annoying pain surges.

Fuck, migraine! [Jul. 10th, 2006|12:02 am]
So I got a migraine at about 9:30. I then took a sample of Imitrex. Now it is 12:00 and it just feels like a headache. So I took another dose. I hope this works, I want some sleep...

Woot, Daily Show mentions Civ 4.

Check the "player haters" clip.

So appearently the Republican Representative Joe Barton from Texas plays Civ 4, but it is too difficult for him. I figure with his endorsement of the game we will sell at least another 300,000 units.

God I hate the growing decrease of personal responsibility. It is always a video game, or a rock star making a child do something. It is never the fault of a parent that has not done their job. But then, I hear bullshit about "how is a parent supposed to watch after there child when they are working all day to make ends meet?" Fuck that. If you do not have time for a child do not have a child. It is not society's job to the be the parent, it is the parents job to be the parent.

So do I need to grow a mullet? [Jun. 2nd, 2006|01:37 pm]
My wife often mocks me for my love the 80's rock super group Journey. She on the other hand loves the Def Leppard. Imagine our excitment (so ashamed) to find out that Journey and Def Leppard were touring together. So we are off to see them on the 7th of July. We are apearently seeing them at the pavillion and have Lawn seats.

So that confirms it. I am old.

Fuck I remember seeing KMFDM in a warehouse under a bridge. I was in the pit. I got elbowed in the face and knocked out for a good 10 seconds. It was awesome. I don't think there is going to be a pit during "Don't stop believing." In fact other then my own drunkenness, the highlight of the evening with Journey will probably be a 40+ year old woman flashing the band.

It is hard to deal with the fact that my life is no longer wild. I have traded drugs for health and sanity.I have traded late nights of fun to be reliable to my job, and to be financially secure. I have traded sex with random strangers for the love and caring of my wife.

Working hard to get my fill,
everybody wants a thrill
Payin' anything to roll the dice,
just one more time
Some will win, some will lose
Some were born to sing the blues
Oh, the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on

Don't stop believin'
Hold on to the feelin'
Streetlight people

Uncle Sam needs You! [Nov. 4th, 2004|11:34 pm]
I've been talking to too many people the age 21-29 that support the war in Iraq. They think we should be there and they believe that risking a grunts life to accomplish it is ok. They support the war... from here that is. When I ask them why they have not enlisted, they look at me like I have just insulted them. But lets be honest, both enlistment and moral is down. I think getting some people who believe in the war would greatly help. But lets be honest, when they say they support the war, they are actually saying that they support risking someone else's life to accomplish our nations goals. Not one of these people believe that the war is worth risking their own life for, because if it was worth risking their lives for, then they would be over there right now. Anything else that they say is simply an excuse.
