|Becoming less Fat
||[Oct. 17th, 2007|04:30 pm]
So I have finally figured out a use for this live journal stuff. I am going to use it to become less fat. With any luck I can use it as a motivator for my wait loss and to track my progress. |
This yearning to get in better shape was caused by my puppy. About once a week I weigh my puppy to se how big she is. To do this I weigh my self holding her and I subtract my wieght. This means I need to weight myself. Last night I weighed 207.5 lb. Holy fuck!
I am currently 33, and the fact is that my body will deteriorate if not focusedon. And the idea that I was in the best shape of my life when I was 17-25 is disturbing to say the least. During those times my body was never in "model" shape. I was thin, but not muscular.
So that is my goal, I want to lose weight and gain 3 things: a nice stomach(aka 6 pack), actual chest muscles ( I have had a bird chest my whole life), and a firmer butt (I have as my wife says, "a chick but").
To achieve my goal I am going to:
1)do an ever increasing workout program which currently consists of:
MID SECTION & AEROBIC WORK
10 minutes of cardio,
followed by Crunches & Leg Raises
Incline Dumbbell Chest Press (1x12)
Dumbbell Pullovers (1x12)
Wide Grip Pulldown (1x12)
Row Machine (1x12)
Seated Dumbbell Presses (1x12)
Triceps Press Machine (1x12)
Standing Dumbbell Curls (1x12)
Leg Press (1x15)
Leg Extension (1x15)
Leg Curl (1x15)
Complete one or two sets of each exercise the first two weeks and three sets of each the remaining weeks of the four-week cycle. Be easy; during the first set, warm-up and practice the groove of the movement (the track in which the weight safely, effectively and naturally travels). Increase the resistance with each successive set. Focus, form and deliberate motion. Hard work but don't strain... Yet.
2) Adjust my eating.
No more soda.
Less Cheese. (it is the devil, but I love the devil)
No Fast food. /cry
Since I am starting on a wednesday I am going to make my first 2 weeks actually be 2 1/2 weeks. I will move to 3 sets on Nov 5, and I will finish this program and start a new one on Nov 19.
In addition I will post pictures of my (hopeful) transformation along with updates of my weight.
